St. Paul Lutheran Church is a congregation with a strong heritage of over 120 years of ministry within the Remsen community and beyond. "All Are Welcome" to worship each Sunday at 9:00 A.M.

We share in lively worship of Word and Sacrament with Jesus Christ at the center. Through the preaching of the Word, connections are made relating faith with daily life at home, at work, in school, and even at the mall! Through the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, we are connected to God and each other by God's grace revealed in Jesus Christ. We share in these means of grace by celebrating Holy Communion every Sunday. We offer a contemporary worship service on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. The service includes a praise band, preaching that is relevant to daily life, and holy Communion. Casual dress is encouraged! Each August we hold a community outdoor worship service and BBQ picnic at Beck Park in Remsen. The next outdoor service will be Sunday, August 26, 2006.

Youth Sermons are important at St. Paul's
Sunday School for all ages

"All Are Welcome" to learn about God's grace and love for everyone in Jesus Christ."Kids for Christ,"

our Christian education ministry, meets each Wednesday night from 6:30-7:00 p.m. Classes are offered for children pre-school through sixth grade. Junior high Confirmation classes also meet each Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. In this class, young people prepare for "Public Affirmation of Baptism." We currently use a program called "Here We Stand" from Augsburg Fortress Publishers (www.herewestandconfirmation.org). Adults have the opportunity for study and fellowship that also meets on Wednesday night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. We have a Sr. High Youth Group that meets the first Sunday of each month and is busy with many activities. Some of our youth group will be attending the ELCA National Youth Gathering in San Antonio, TX next summer.

"All Are Welcome" to serve in ministry opportunities. From our Women of the ELCA, to Jr. & Sr. High, to Sunday School, we seek ways to help care for our neighbors with quilt making, food collection, Christmas "Adopt-A-family," Meals-On-Wheels, and nursing home ministry, "Feed My Starving Children," Siouxland Soup Kitchen, and more...

 

Build friendships with us after worship on Sunday morning with refreshments and conversation. For seniors there is the Older Wiser Lutheran-S (O.W.L.S.). O.W.L.S. meets on the Second Monday of each month. Last summer (2002), adults and kids got together for learning and fun with our second annual "Bible Camp-Out" on the church lawn! We plan to have it again in August 2003. St.
