Family and youth recreation & activities are well supported in Remsen. Remsen's Youth and Recreation Board organizes baseball, softball and basketball leagues for youths of all ages. Scouting, FFA, FHA, Booster Clubs and other family and youth activities are well attended and supported by Remsen's family oriented citizens.

Remsen's famous Avalon Ballroom, recently inducted into the Iowa Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame after being restored to it's original authentic 1950's condition, is a popular gathering spot and hosts many events in northwest Iowa.
