Remsen's first Demo Derby, started in 1978, drew about 800 people. The first event was such a success, the Remsen
Jaycees built a new arena at the base of the Remsen Golf Course in the Summer of 1987, and the event's date was moved to the 3rd Saturday of June each year. Remsen's Demo Derby is a co-operative effort of many organizations which includes the Remsen VFW, K.C.s, Lions Club, EMTs, Fire Dept., & Powder Players Snowmobile Club, plus the Marcus and Sioux City
Jaycees. |
