2005 REMSEN DEMO DERBY ASSOCIATION RULES
1. Any rules not listed here will be left up to the OFFICIALS!
2. Cars, drivers and pit crew must be on the grounds and inspected at least 1 hour before race time!!!
3. ANY RECKLESS DRIVING OR OTHER SAFETY HAZARDS BY THE DRIVER OR PIT CREW WILL BE GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE DERBY AND GROUNDS!
4. Anyone under 18 must have a notarized release form signed by their parent/guardians before driving in or working in the pit area. NO ONE UNDER 16 ALLOWED.  MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE TO DRIVE. 
5. Any person taking part in this race must sign a release, releasing the REMSEN COMMUNITY ACTION CLUB, The CITY OF REMSEN, IOWA and the PLYMOUTH COUNTY FAIR from any injuries received from this race.
6. A non-refundable $45 entry fee per car. 72 car limit, first 72 paid run. 100% payback of entry fee.
7. Entry fee includes car and 1 driver. NO OTHERS ALLOWED IN PIT AREA OR DISQUALIFICATION! NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. SAFETY IS A MUST!
8. Drivers are required to wear safety helmet and seat belts. NO PROFANITY ON CARS OR OBSCENE GESTURES. 
9. A workable fire extinguisher is required in the pits, but optional for the car.
10. Due to city ordinance - derby cars must be out of city limits within two weeks after the derby. CARS MUST BE OFF GROUNDS BY NOON NEXT DAY OR THEY WILL BE CLAIMED BY DERBY ASSOCIATION.

BIG CAR RULES!
1. Cars and station wagons only (EXCEPTION - NO IMPERIALS) - OPEN HOOD INSPECTION AT CHECK-IN!
2. All glass and chrome must be removed before entering pit area.  DO NOT BREAK GLASS IN DOORS!  THIS WILL BE ENFORCED!  ANY GLASS MEANS DISQUALIFICATION!
3. Frame seam can be re-welded.  No extra metal or welded support added inside or outside the frame.
4. All bumper used from any make must remain in stock form.  No bending, reshaping, or strengthening.  Bumper end may be cut off.  NO METAL STRAPS FROM BUMPER TO HOOD, RADIATOR, OR TRUCK LID.
5. Bumper shocks can be welded / bolted solid.  2" metal strap 1/8" thick or chain can be attached from top of frame, around bumper to bottom of frame.
6. Radiator support must remain stock with the exception of a 2" X 2" angle iron or metal bar 1/8" thick, the width of the radiator on top of support.
7. Hood must have 2 12" fire holes cut in them.  Only 6 bolts used to fasten down, 2 of the bolts are mandatory in back corners.  Front two bolts only may be connected to the frame.
8. Fender and door seam can have 3" welds 6" apart.  Only the driver's door can be welded solid.  All doors must be welded, chained or bolted closed.  Each fender and quarter panel are allowed 5 bolts only. 
9. Trunk lid and end gates must be chained, welded or bolted closed.  3" welds 6" apart.  10 OR LESS BOLTS.  BOLTS CANNOT BE CONNECTED TO THE FRAME IN ANY MANNER.
10. Battery may be moved inside of car - fastened securely and covered.  NO MORE THAN 2 BATTERIES.
11. GAS TANK MUST BE IN INTERIOR OF CAR BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT, COVERED AND SECURED SOLID.  MUST BE A SEALED MARINE STYLE TANK, NO 5 GALLON BUCKET!  REMOVE OLD TANK.
12. NO TIRES OVER 15 INCHES ALLOWED.  NO SOLID RUBBER TIRES!  BRAKES MUST WORK!!!
13. Any ready bolts or regular bolts cannot exceed 4" x 4" in diameter.
14. All washers and metal plates cannot exceed 4" x 4" in diameter.
15. Suspension must remain standard height at front and rear of car.
16. Transmission cooler are allowed but must remains under hood.  Locked rear ends optional.
17. Trunk must be empty.  All doors, side panels, wagon rear end door panel, and rear seat must be removed for inspection.  (except driver's door for safety!)
18. All bumper hitches and their support brackets to the frame must be removed.
19. One support bar in dash area, no larger than 3" diameter, one bar behind driver's seat, no larger than 4" diameter.  End plates on bars 12" by 6".  No other bars allowed!!!
20. Pre-derby car that needs work done on the frame can use a 6" length by 1/8" thick metal pieice to fix.  Repair body parts - use the same thickness of metal.

SMALL CAR RULES

1. Original gas tank must be in front of rear end or put in middle of back seat. The gas tank filler neck needs to be moved to the interior of the car.
2. Plastic or rubber molding on front and rear bumper must be removed.
3. Back two hood bolts may connect to frame for safety reasons.
4. All other rules are the same as big car rules.
5. All air bags must be removed.
