Remsen Community Action Club (RCAC)

The RCAC was formed by Remsen Junior Chamber of Commerce members to improve the quality of life in the Remsen community. For information call 712-786-1521 (Avalon Ballroom) or 712-786-3215 (Dean).

The Remsen Demo Derby first ran in 1978 and drew about 800 people. Today's Demo Derby has grown into a monster event, drawing over 3,000 people a year the 3rd Saturday of June each year.

     Avalon Ballroom - click for more info The Avalon Ballroom

The Avalon Ballroom was purchased through RCAC fundraising activities, and has been remodeled. Today Remsen's Avalon Ballroom has been restored to it's 65 year heritage of bringing northwest Iowa live entertainment, dances, and the gathering of large groups.

     Beck Park Shelterhouse Beck Park Shelterhouse

Beck Park Shelterhouse is a popular gathering spot for many Remsen activities. It serves as a Senior Citizens Meals Center, and provides a large kitchen and dining area for family reunions, park activities and meetings.
