Streets

The Remsen Street Department oversees the maintenance of the City streets and alleys. Responsibilities include snow removal & street sweeping, maintenace of street signs, and upkeep of the City's five baseball fields, football field, two City Parks and swimming pool.

Sanitation

The Remsen Sanitation Department provides a once a week garbage service for residential customers and a twice to three times a week pickup for commercial customers. The City's garbage is hauled to the Plymouth County landfill's transfer station 11 miles west of Remsen.

Wastewater

Remsen's Wastewater Department treats an average of 185,000 gallons of mostly domestic waste a day. Wastewater is pumped to a three cell aerated lagoon. During the golfing season the treated water is used to irrigate the golf course's nine fairways.
